How this solar calculator works
The calculator adds up the daily units (kWh) your appliances use, then divides by the average peak sun hours in your region and the real-world output of each panel (about 80% of its rated power). It sizes the hybrid inverter for your peak load with a 25% safety margin, and sizes a lithium battery for the night backup hours you choose, using fans, lights, fridge, TV and router as essential loads.
Tips to get an accurate result
- Check the wattage on your appliance labels — inverter ACs and fridges use less power than older models.
- Be honest about AC hours; ACs make the biggest difference to system size.
- If you face long load shedding, increase the night backup hours.
- Under net billing, using solar yourself saves more than exporting it, so a hybrid system with a battery usually pays back faster.
